Hatchet 3 analysis

Hatchet 3 (2013) is the third film of horror in the Hatchet Series. It chronicles the ongoing adventures of Victor Crowley and his murderous rampage through Honey Island Swamp in Louisiana. Kane Hodder plays Victor Crowley and Brian Quinn is Deputy Winslow. Rileah Vanderbilt plays Misty.

Its utilization of special effects is the primary strength of this movie. In contrast to many contemporary horror films which rely heavily on CG effects, Hatchet 3 features mostly realistic makeup effects and sets, resulting in some truly horrific scenes throughout the movie.

Kane Hodder is a standout among the cast, and he's an intimidating villain. The dialogue feels like a (blog post) 1980s slasher movie. It is witty and hilarious. Additionally, there are several hilarious moments that provide a sense of humor against the horror-inducing action.

Due to the small budget (1 million dollars) most of the locations are duplicates from previous films. Hatchet 2's boat house was only used once and the rest of the footage feels like it was reused from earlier films. It's almost like it's familiar to those who've watched Hatchet or Hatchet 2.

Overall, Hatchet 3 was a excellent series overall. There were many gory moments, and there were some great performances from the cast.
